Airhorns are suitable for a wide range of signalling and warning applications including foundries, steelworks, petrochemical plants and other industrial locations. Their powerful, low frequency sound cuts through background noise making them particularly suitable for the noisiest of environments. Moflash Signalling produces two ranges of airhorns, the SK Series and the AP Series. The SK Series is manufactured from non-ferrous materials therefore offering high corrosion protection and weatherproofing. This makes the SK series ideal for outdoor applications such as railways, goods yards and for marine applications. The AP Series is suitable for most general purpose signalling applications.

Some Facts
Airhorns are a very traditional acoustic signalling tool and thanks to Moflash, they still continue to be a popular choice today. Originally made by Klaxon, production has recently been taken over by Moflash, thereby keeping the brand alive. In fact, the name ‘Klaxon’ has come to be used as a description synonymous with any type of horn or hooter in the same way as ‘Biro’ has for pens and ‘Hoover’ for vacuum cleaners!

So how does an airhorn work?
Airhorns are non-electrical devices that only operate from a compressed air supply. They offer a very high dB output with very low frequency sound which makes them ideal for very noisy environments. Being non-electrical, they can be used in hazardous areas – Category 1.
For applications which do not have a direct air supply, an optional 24vDc compressor is available.
Versions available include the SK Range and the AP Range.
